Traditional Tae Kwon Do
To Develop Oneself Physically, Mentally, Spiritually and to have a Good Character.
Physical Development
The King Tiger Charlotte Curriculum of Martial Arts includes a built in system for the improvement of one's physical abilities. Our system includes physical fitness, athletic ability, self-defense skills, enhancement of one's speed, power, and flexibility, and the development of well rounded and versatile Martial Artists.
Mental Development
Our King Tiger Tae Kwon Do teaching system develops the individual's abilities to focus and concentrate. To become highly skilled in the Martial Arts, one must be centered and focused, and the learning process emphasizes both these abilities through development of the student's concentration skills. Martial Arts help to develop strong minds by teaching that anything is possible. This is what develops the "Yes, I Can" attitude.
Spiritual Development
Martial Arts teaches determination. Students learn to believe in themselves and what they are doing, and to never give up. They learn to put faith in their instructor's ability to guide them to their next level of accomplishment and in their own ability to reach that level.
Character Development
Striving to develop a good character within ourselves is the facet that separates Martial Arts from other fitness programs and sporting activities. The development of an athlete is much simpler than the development of a Martial Arts student. Not only does an instructor have to work with the student to develop physical proficiency, he must also develop the mental skills and discipline. King Tiger Charlotte consistently demands respect, discipline, control, and a positive mental attitude from its students. An average Martial Arts school is one in which the students are skilled in the physical aspects of the program. A great Martial Arts school is defined by students who are well rounded and developed to perfection in all aspects of self-development. What separates a great Martial Arts instructor from an average one is his attitude of caring towards his students and his determination to ensure that all four goals of the student creed are accomplished by them. What defines an outstanding Martial Arts Association is that it never sacrifices its ideals or values and strives to develop their students to their best potential.

Philippine Combatives™
PHILIPPINE MARTIAL ARTS - ARNIS /KALI /ESCRIMA
Eskrima (also known as Arnis and Kali) is a weapon - based martial art which comes from the Philippines. It is the national sport of the Philippines, and has a very long history of combat effectiveness. Only recently has this art become more conspicuous in many countries and enjoyed by other more traditional asian arts. Its difference from other martial arts is that the student is taught to train with weapons from the very start, rather than starting on empty hands training (like many martial arts do). This type of training builds manual dexterity in the practitioner and also trains faster conditioned responses to various attacks. Although it is weapons based, it also includes striking (kicking and punching), wrestling and grappling, and even groundfighting, as well as teaching practical defenses against commonly used weapons.
Philippine Combatives™ is the style of Philippine martial arts taught at King Tiger Charlotte. It is a composite of various classical and modern fighting systems used in the Philippines. The student is introduced to the various systems in the full range of fighting. An emphasis is placed on self-defense drills to train the student to react instinctively from far range (malayo) medium range (medyo) to close range (malapit).
Philippine Combatives™ is an art that has a realistic approach to personal protection. The discipline combines hand-to-hand training (mano - mano) and weapon defenses with practical utilization with ground survival techniques (Dumog). Its practical approach is second to none. Adults have different abilities and limitations. Knowing this makes this program ideal to any adult interested in martial arts training that will work with his/her own self and abilities, not against it!

That is where they learn values like respect, self discipline, impulse control, and action philosophy. This is what sets King Tiger TKD apart from regular day care programs, the life skills that begin in Tae Kwon Do Class and then is incorporated into everything your children do at King Tiger.
